PuT's truly unique laboratory mechanics system is primarily designed for the production of laboratory samples and small series.
Based on the system's easy-to-produce templates, it achieves a relatively high level of punching accuracy.
However, it is important that all blanks have exactly the same dimensions and are inserted into the template with an exact fit.
An essential prerequisite for accuracy is that the blanks for the parts to be punched have exactly the same dimensions.
Two manual punches with projections of 120 mm and 260 mm are available for the PuT system.
Both have a high-precision punch guide. The punches and dies are installed and removed using an Allen key. Each punch has an optional centered tip, which can be easily inserted into any center punch hole, so that accurate punching can be carried out without a template.
Two methods are commonly used to produce a punching template. For both methods, however, an exact sample of the part to be produced is required. The template itself consists of a 2 mm thick steel plate and usually 6 limiting disks for the outer edge of the part.
The latter can simply be welded on.
It is essential to ensure that there is extremely little play between the workpiece and the limiting washers. However, this method is disadvantageous if the positions of the limiting washers have to be changed, even if only slightly, due to inaccurate cutting. In this case, it is better to use the available screw-on washers, whose position can be changed by a maximum of approx. 0.5 mm.
This allows the plate, foil etc. to be punched to be guided precisely under the perforated plate.
Now you can quickly and accurately reproduce the hole pattern of the template.
